MALLKU was founded in 1998.

The group performs original and traditional instrumental music from South America. It strives to bring forward new melodies using a novel blend of native Andean wind instruments (pan pipes & wood flutes) with keyboard, guitar, bass and percussion. MALLKU has recorded and released four albums together. The group performs frequently in the South Florida and Tampa Bay area for a wide variety of audiences, from infants to elders.

MALLKU’s music has been described as: original, refreshing, beautiful, innovative, awesome, haunting, mystical and inspiring. “Sparkling spring water for the thirsty soul.”

MALLKU represented the Florida International Museum during a six-month exhibit entitled “Empires of Mystery” The Incas, the Andes and Lost Civilizations. The exhibit featured music from the group's first album, Mirror of the Andes. MALLKU and its music has been featured in a documentary by BAY NEWS Channel 9 on the Empires of Mystery exhibit. The SPC (St. Petersburg College) also utilized the group's music for a documentary on the Venezuelan mudslides. The B.B.C. International featured MALLKU in a radio interview and the group has even hosted its own weekend radio show “The MALLKU Music Hour.”
